In a quiet street in Germany, a veiled woman walked into a large supermarket, pushing her shopping cart through the aisles, carefully selecting what she needed. Her appearance wasn’t unusual in society, but it often sparked curiosity—sometimes even ridicule.
After finishing her shopping, she headed to the checkout counter. Behind the register stood an employee of Arab descent, dressed stylishly but with an unmistakable look of disdain the moment her eyes fell on the veiled woman. She sneered and began scanning the items aggressively, slamming them onto the counter as if punishing her in silence.
The veiled woman remained calm, unbothered, which only fueled the employee’s frustration. Finally, unable to hold back, the employee blurted out in a mocking tone:
"We have enough problems and crises in Germany, and your niqab is one of them! We are here for business, not for displaying religion or history. If you want to practice your faith, go back to your country and do as you please!"
At that moment, the veiled woman stopped packing her groceries. She looked up, then slowly lifted her veil. The employee’s eyes widened in shock—before her stood a woman with fair skin, blonde hair, and striking blue eyes. The German Muslim smiled gently and said:
"I am German, through and through. This is my faith, and this is my home. You sold your religion, and we bought it."
Silence fell. The employee had no response. Meanwhile, the other customers looked on in admiration and surprise. Who would have thought that faith knows no nationality, and that home is not just a place, but where the heart finds peace?
This hit deep. So real and powerful. Thank you for putting these feelings into words.
